EEG, Virtual Reality (VR) and Wearables

We use a high density, active electrode EEG devices, body sensors (wearables) and Virtual Reality (VR) to record brain and body activity from website users, vulnerable consumers and patients with neurological diseases and disorders

Our lab is equipped with a 96 channel state-of-the-art Actichamp EEG system with active electrodes and latest VR Oculus headsets. The first projects using these new technologies are under way.  We want to understand how the myriad of sensory information received by our brain and body is processed online and how it gives rise to intelligent decision making of the sort that online customers perform in digital environments. A fascinating question in this direction is characterizing the interplay between body and brain signals as a result of changes in environmental input. Together with UCL colleagues, we use body sensors (wearables) to test  if and to what extent cognitive processing depends on this interplay. Besides this work, we also develop VR games that induce emotional changes and facilitate learning. More to follow soon...
