This is a collaboration with MIT's Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Brain and Cognitive Sciences, that aims at developing the next generation fMRI.</span></span><span style="font-size:16px;"> The project will focus on understanding&nbsp; a new class of fMRI responses, called hemogenetic responses. These offer unprecedented spatial resolution at a cellular scale -- along with wide brain coverage of neural activity. In contrast to usual fMRI,&nbsp; which cannot isolate neural activity at the microscale, hemogenetics allow one to record activity from single cells and circuits. Thus, one can investigate the details of how single neurons interact on a brain wide scale. We will investigate how stimulus information is processed while propagating in large brain networks and develop tools that can be used by next generation fMRI researchers.</span></div></div></div>
